Archambault, Caroline

Born in 1971, in St. Eustache, Québec, Caroline Archambault discovers at a very young age her passion for arts and expression.  As a teenager, she explores dance, then models for painter Samir Kachami, who teaches her to sketch, after which she trains formally in draughtsmanship and architecture.

She continues to study sketching and painting with Francine Labelle, then attends the Visual Ars faculty at Concordia University, in Montreal.  She has since continued to perfect her craft, notably at Brian Bomesler’s New York studio, as well as at Vancouver’s Emily Carr Institute.

The artist’s work is regularly exhibited in Montreal and in the Laurentians, where she’s lived and worked since 2004.  In 2007 along with Françoise Sullivan and Nicole Cossette, she participated in a show held in Japan.

Through her painting, Archambault expresses her abstract, poetic take on reality and explores the power of imagination and of the creative process: cohabitation of light and depth, strong contrasts, vibrant colors… constitute as many interior landscapes for the viewer to feel.  Spaces meant for meditation and contemplation.

Caroline Archambault’s work can be found in many private collections throughout North America and Europe, including in Montreal, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto and Paris.
