St-Jacques, Claude

Born in 1952, Claude St-Jacques attends throughout her youth free expression visual arts classes at Ateliers Louise Poliquin.

She finishes her Fine Arts studies in 1978, and the following year obtains her bachelor’s degree in arts education from the Université du Québec à Montréal.

« As a result of my training in etching when studying Fine Arts, I like to scratch the surface to discover what lies beneath.  I apply many coats of paint, I strip some the add more.  I use metallic media to add brilliance and  richness.  There’s something I like in the concept of light or emptiness emerging from within. »
