Born in Poland in 1968, Jan Delikat specializes in metalwork at the Rzeszów School of Visual Arts, and in 1993 he obtains his masters’ degree in arts for the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts.
Recepient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Prize in 1993, Delikat sets off to Quebec, where he still practises his art, combining irreproachable technique with undeniable talent. He prefers monochrome paintings, which allow him to play, with great refinement, with infinite nuances of a given shade.
Delikat’s themes vary from still-lives to portraits to street scenes. With very fine brushstrokes, he invites us to enter into his interior world, made up of images of bygone eras as well as scenes from everyday life, gently laid on the canvas in a subdued mosaic.
