Born in Valleyfield, from a very young age Diane Brouillette is very close to her grandmother; this attachment is marked by the reassuring atmosphere emanating from the antique furniture and objects found throughout her home.
After completing her art studies at the Université du Québec à Montréal, as well as studying etching and lithography at the Université Laval, she travels to Europe, where she takes advanced training courses, first in Grenoble, then at the Bella Arte Academy in Florence.
Brouillette’s still-lives are infused by ambiance; they exude the warmth and life brought forth by the textures and rich tones used by the artist. They evoke the sweetness of passing seasons, as much by the fruit each bears as by the light which it brings.
