Born in 1965 in North Lancaster, Ontario, from an early age Dominic Besner surveys his family’s land in the hopes of discovering traces of lost civilizations or subject matter to satisfy his craving for knowledge.
Finding the occult, paranormal phenomena and horror films more interesting than school, a teenage Besner finds his calling: architecture, which will take him to Université de Montréal, where he completes in 1992 his thesis project in architecture, on the re-actualization of urban cemeteries…
Having worked in various architectural firms, Besner realizes that the use of computer technologies has replaced Man’s artistic ability; he gradually gives up architecture to explore drawing and painting, which allows him to freely express the images that haunt him.
