Born in 1953, self-taught Montrealer Nicole St-Pierre has been painting for nearly 30 years, drawing her inspiration from everyday life: the people, plants, animals and familiar objects surrounding her.
While she is well known for her female nudes, circus artists, musicians and vivid still lifes, allegorical animals are making their way onto a growing number of canvases. Her palette, rich and colourful, favours primary and secondary colours punctuated with blacks and whites.
In addition to a long list of exhibitions in Canada and the United States to St-Pierre’s credit, her work can be found in many private collections throughout the world.
